The colours of this season include light blondes, ginger and light shades of brown.

If you want to change your hair colour, always remember to keep it light. Blondes should be yellowed or a little coppery, definitely not ashy.

Reds are strawberry blonde or gingery, not chestnut or auburn. Natural grey is very flattering on light springs as it matches your natural light colouring.

Always remember the most harmonious look is the one where you keep your natural contrast and your natural features. If you change that, the result is an impactful look (think blonde Sandra Bullock). There is no right or wrong, as long as you are achieving the results you want.

Accessories

  1. Metals

Because your natural colouring is light, you want to repeat that in your accessories. Since you have a neutral-warm undertone, you can wear warm and cool metals (gold, rose gold, white gold, silver and platinum), but gold is the better choice.

Metals can be shiny, brushed, or matte. Try to steer away from antiqued or oxidised finishes because dark metals and clash with your light appearance. The most important factor is that the metal is light to match your delicate colouring rather than deep and rich.

Beautiful stones for light spring jewellery include Turquoise, Aventurine, Amethyst, Morganite and Aquamarine.

  1. Sunglasses

Like everything else, light spring eyewear needs to be light. Glasses frames can be any of the metals discussed above, or any colour in the palette.

If you want a bold look, opt for a brighter colour from your palette, some shiny lenses or a metallic look. If you prefer something more discreet, opt for brown, khaki or gold. Transparent materials or semi-clear plastic will look amazing on you.

Even though black might feel like a safe choice, you should avoid because it will clash with your light beauty. You should avoid any dark colour in general.

Make-up

To achieve a harmonious look, you should mimic your natural characteristics and your natural contrast with your make-up. If you want more info on light spring's features and contrast levels, click here.

  1. Foundation and concealer

If you are a light spring, your primary colour aspect is the lightness of your features (low value) and your secondary aspect is your neutral-warm undertone (hue).

There is no easy way to find your perfect foundation, it really is a matter of trial and error.

However, you should always select foundations and concealers with warm or neutral-warm undertones (yellowish look). Look for natural and peach-based and make sure they have a dewy or satin finish.

Avoid pinkish tones, which have cool undertones and will clash with your naturally warm complexion. Also stay away from matte finishes. If you’re new to all of this, I highly recommend you try the makeup on in-person.

Lots of brands have “W, N, NW, NC, C” on the label, which makes easier to match your undertone.

Its worth mentioning that MAC uses a different method, and it’s the opposite of other brands:

A person with warm undertone would be suited well to an NC foundation whereas a person with cool undertones would be better suited to an NW foundation.

A person with a beige undertone (neutral) would be perfectly suited to an N foundation.

  1. Bronzer & Highlighter

Bronzers can work on Light Springs, but make sure choose a light colour with a peachy undertone. Dont go too dark or try to do some contouring because that will simply look off on you.

Highlighters will add some shimmer, which works beautifully on you, so dont be afraid to invest in them. Usually the warmer golden tones are the best option for you.

  1. Eyeshadows

Neutral eyeshadow colours are the are the creams, beiges, grey and browns on the palette.

For highlight and accent eyeshadow colours, opt for the gentle pastels with yellow undertone on your palette, including pinks, peaches, and warm blues.

When you select eyeshadows, go for creamy consistencies and shimmery finishes.

Avoid cool and icy colours, as well as overly dark colours, because they will clash with your natural light and warm colouring. However, if you want a dramatic look, using darker tones will help you to achieve the impact you are looking for.

  1. Blushes

Light Spring blushes come from the light ink and coral area of your palette. Make sure you choose warm, yellow-based colours with a shimmery finish.

Avoid blue-based colours that are too cool for your complexion. And steer clear of dark and dusty colours, which may dull your light and bright appearance.

  1. Mascara and Eyeliner

Mascara best options for Light Springs are dark browns and warm greys. True black is too dark and cool for you, however, if you choose to use it, use warmer and lighter shadows to balance out the coolness.

Eyeliner colours include the dark shades from your palette, such as dark greys, dark blues, purples and greens. If you want to bring out your eyes, choose an eyeliner in a similar colour.

  1. Lipsticks

Lipstick colours for Light Spring include the peachy and coral shades of your palette, as well as the warm pinks. Opt for cremy, sheer formulations rather than matte.

Avoid overly bright colours as they will look overwhelming compared to your natural gentle colouring. Also, brown lip colours and nude looks are not the best options for you. As a delicate season, opt for a gentle but colourful look.

If you want to look balanced and harmonious, repeat your contrast level. If you want a dramatic effect and an impactful look, going a few shades darker will do the trick.
